Born in 1974 in Sydney, Australia, Lowry received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) from the Sydney College of the Arts.
Fiona was awarded the prestigious Archibald Prize from the Art Gallery of New Wales in 2014.
She is also a regular exhibitor in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Art Prizes. Fiona has also been awarded the Doug Moran Portrait Prize in 2008 and the Fleurieu Landscape Prize in 2013.
Fiona’s work is held in a numerous public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Portrait Gallery, Artbank, the University of Queensland Art Museum and the Macquarie Bank Collection.
